The workboat 'Corvus' is up on jackstands in the yard, waiting for springtime boat commissioning. An old Vineyard house stands in the background, still golden with new shingles. Piles of line and other boatyard supplies stand in neat piles by the rustic fence.

Elizabeth Whelan uses museum-quality materials including traditional oil paints and mediums, high-quality canvas and archival rigid panels, and has finished the painting with an archival satin varnish for protection.

The painting is framed in an unfinished maple floating frame.
